What is Laser Dentistry?

Since 1960, when it was created the first laser device for medical use, research has tended to seek a tool to improve and replace the traditional techniques of dental rotary instruments (around or turbine).

Only in 1997, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of Erbium laser on hard tissue (tooth). This approval was achieved by the firm Premier Laser Systems (USA) for your computer called “Centauri”. Until then, all the lasers used to be very useful for application in oral soft tissue (gums, braces, mucous, etc.) Being, therefore its further dissemination in the field of surgery and dentistry.
