Periodontal disease is very common in the Spanish population. If all we had a good grooming habits, may not speak of this disease. The calculus and bleeding gums may be early warning signs. Periodontal disease encompasses a variety of pathologies in the mouth, although it is basically an infection that affects the tissue that supports the teeth, gums, ligament and bone destruction affecting grip the tooth, which can be lost despite not being the be directly affected and a healthy tooth.

The most common periodontal disease from simple gingivitis to more aggressive disease with tooth loss, or necrotizing infections.

The disease may progress in patients with few symptoms and does not give pain, if pain is usually a process already complicated, but the main thing is to monitor the bleeding of the gums, mobility of teeth, the interdental spaces, and any other irregular symptoms in the mouth. (more…)
