The food we eat is directly responsible for the start of caries, the food there that discuss the implications on our teeth. In this case, we highlight a variety of foods to fight tooth decay, we have chosen to share with you sobresalud.

In general, food is the key to avoiding the occurrence of caries, but also has much to do to follow proper eating habits, like not snack between meals to keep food remains in the teeth to combat this effect, it is very important to brush after every meal (more on the main meal: breakfast, lunch and dinner). Another good practice is to eat chewing gum with xylitol, which can be a good alternative to do between meals.

Is the postoperative period hard?

Contrary to what may seem, in many cases is less postoperative discomfort and inconvenience to other minor interventions in dentistry. A well-placed implant should not hurt, only the wound can cause discomfort in the gum during the healing process. It is essential to observe a scrupulous hygiene to avoid gum superinfections. Usually antibiotics are prescribed for safety. In cases of major interventions, such as sinus lifts and grafting, swelling frequently appears during the first days, but not painful and can make normal life.

How long does the full treatment take from the placement of the attachments to the final prosthesis?

The implants used in our consultations are those which require shorter interval to be charged. The prosthesis can be placed after two-month wait once the surgery. Other implants may require a period of osseointegration of six months. (more…)
