Technique, step by step
It’s simple. The tooth or teeth that are to receive a facet are lowered slightly on the front, on the order of 0.3-0.5 mm. After preparation takes a very precise measurement with silicone, which will be sent to the laboratory technicians draw up a facet by modern injection or cast porcelain.
After the veneer, it performs the fit test, and if it is valid we proceed to put the veneer with a special adhesive. The whole process lasts a few days.
Not all patients need treatment with porcelain fronts. Cases of severe crowding or defects in the relationship of the dental arches may contraindicate this treatment. It is also not recommended in patients with bruxism (”grind” their teeth).
